Hi, I am Steve Walker, I currently work for the Kanawha County Sheriff's Department as a Community Services Officer. Prior to this, I retired in 2006 as a Lieutenant with the Charleston Police Department, where I served since August 1979. I held many positions at Charleston Police Department such as: Patrol Division, Housing, Traffic, Crime Scene Technician, Assistant Chief of Detectives, Assistant Director of Charleston Regional Police Academy, Training Commander, Assistant Commander of the Metropolitan Drug Enforcement Network Team and Commander of Support Services.

I teach various subjects including: Motorcycle Certification, Defensive and Pursuit Driving, Firearms, S. W. A. T. Sniper, Crime Scene Search and Collection, Crime Scene Photography, Basic Fingerprint Detection and Collection to department members and other law enforcement officers.

I have been a member of Capital City Lodge #74 since 1980 and held the position of Treasurer from 1989 to 2004. Held the office of State Lodge Treasurer from 2000 to 2004, then became the State President in 2004 to present. I have a Bachelors of Arts Degree and an Associates Degree from West Virginia State University in Criminal Justice,a graduate of the F.B.I. National Academy, 203 session.

I am married to Kim and have two wonderful children, Logan, a fireman, and Patricia, a nurse. and  two fantastic grandchildren.


Vice President, Joe Crawford

I have been an FOP member of St. Albans Lodge #88 for 18 years. I have held several offices within the local lodge. I have been very active in both the State and Local lodges. My current position in the West Virginia State FOP Lodge is Vice President and previously held the position of Chaplain for 6 years. I was elected WV State Chaplain at the State Convention in Wheeling WV in 1998. Prior to that I served as State Trustee for St. Albans Lodge #88 for 4 years. I have had the privilege of meeting and working with many brothers and sisters across the State of West Virginia and the Nation on many different issues. I look forward to serving as your Vice President. My main priority and obligation to the State Lodge is the Legislative Session each year. I have over 11 years of experience on the WV State Board. I look forward to the challenges ahead and serving the State Lodge.

I have been a police officer for 19 years. I began with the Dunbar Police Department in the spring of 1986. I left Dunbar Police Department in the spring of 1987 to go to St. Albans Police Department. I have been with St. Albans Police Department since 1987. My father was a retired Chief of Police from South Charleston Police Department and the Yeager Airport Police Department. He was an active member of Chemical City Lodge in South Charleston till he passed away in April 1998. I have had many great opportunities in my Law Enforcement career which include assignments to the Metro Drug Enforcement Unit, Detective Bureau and Shift Commander in Road Patrol Division. I was promoted to Chief of St. Albans Police Department in July 2006. I am also a team leader for the departments SWAT team. I am a certified Instructor with the State of West Virginia Law Enforcement Training Committee, and I am a Law Enforcement advisor to the West Virginia Regional Response Team. I am also a member of the St. Albans Fire Department as an on call Fire Fighter and Diver. I am a graduate of the 192 Session of the National FBI Academy.


Secretary, Jim Kudlak

I am Jim Kudlak. I am the retired Chief of Police of the City of Moundsville. I joined the Moundsville Police Department in 1979 at the age of 18.  I retired with 32 years of service with the Moundsville Police Department on April 30, 2011.  I have been a member of the FOP for 31 years. I was elected to the State Board of the FOP as a trustee in 1984.

I was elected to the position of Chaplain in 2004.  In 2012 I was elected to the position of Secretary of the WV State Lodge Fraternal Order of Police. 

 


Treasurer, Daren McNeil

I am Daren McNeil, a Sergeant with the Huntington Police Department. Over the past three years I have been assigned to the Detective Bureau. I am a Supervisor in the Property Crimes Unit. I have been employed by the Huntington Police Department for over 20 years. During that time I have worked as a Patrol Officer, Mobile Response Team member, and as a Traffic Accident Specialist in the Traffic Unit.

I have been a member of The Fraternal Order of Police for over 22 years. In 1986 I was initiated into St. Albans Lodge #88 while employed with the St. Albans Police Department. I transferred my membership to Gold Star Lodge #65 in 1988 when my employment with the Huntington Police Department began. I have held every board title in Gold Star Lodge including that of President in 1996. I have been active in the Fraternal Order of Police as a delegate attending every State Conference since 1988. In 1994 I was selected as Trustee to the State Lodge and served in that position for 4 years. In 1998, I was elected Second Vice President to the State lodge and held that position for 6 Years. In June of 2004, I was elected Treasurer of the State Lodge. It has been my pleasure to serve this great organization over the years. It is my hope that I can continue to serve in the future.

2nd Vice President, Rick Barnhart

 

Rick is currently serving as a Lieutenant with the Salem WV Police Department.  He has 29 years experience in law enforcement.  28 of those years he has been as a faithful member of the Fraternal Order of Police.  In Rick's words, "I bleed FOP".  

Rick began his FOP career with the Mountaineer Lodge 78.  He has served in all offices of the Mountaineer Lodge 78, Including a stint as President of the Lodge. 

Rick was elected to represent Mountaineer Lodge as their State Trustee.  Rick was then elected to the 2nd Vice President position with the State Lodge.  He is serving his 3rd term in that capacity.
